Backwards loaded training is incredibly valuable because of its neurological reverse origin benefits. We have to pulse back strongly using plantar flexion, knee extension, and gutes work concentrically at the end of support phase step.
For this reason, I highlight this movement as important when someone is established in their rehab for ACL injury. It is encouraging terminal extension at the tibia-femoral articulation.
The loaded walking lunge forward while decelerating is excellent also.
Very worthwhile exercise using shoulder harness.
